Newhaven Port Charges 2013

The charges listed below are made by the Statutory Harbour Authority pursuant to the Harbours Act 1964 and The Docks and Harbours Act 1966 and are subject to alteration and revision at any time. VAT rates are in addition where applicable.
All use of the Port is subject to Newhaven Port & Properties Ltd Terms & Conditions which can be found here or requested from the Harbour Office. All vessels using the harbour must be adequately insured.
1. COMMERCIAL VESSELS
a). Vessel Dues
i). Vessels to load or discharge from/to Foreign £1.00 per GT.
ii). Vessels to load or discharge from/to Coastal £0.50 per GT.
iii). Vessels for laying up, repairs, bunkering, stores, crew change, fresh water, ice, mobilisation/demobilisation, etc £3.60 per metre LOA per 24 hrs or part thereof.
iv). Vessels discharging fish £20.00 per metre LOA per 24 hrs or part thereof.
Any vessel remaining in the port after completion of discharge/loading will then be charged as per Visiting Vessels in section 3(i) or 3(ii) below.
b). Cargo Dues per tonne
Roadstone £0.35
Aggregates £0.15
Scrap Metal £0.82
Rock/Block Stone £0.52
Biomass products £0.37
Manufactured steel products £1.03
Miscellaneous general items over the quayside £3.00 (minimum charge of £30.00)
Passengers (not ferry related) £4.00 per adult and £2.00 per child (under 16).
2. Residential Vessels
Bonafide Fishing Vessels £103 per metre length per annum.
Commercial Work Vessels £206 per metre length per annum.
Conservancy Charge £206 per metre length per annum.
NB: Multihull vessels will incur a 50% surcharge.
3. Visiting Vessels
i). Vessels of any length £3.60 per metre length per 24 hrs or part thereof.
ii). Vessels sheltering from the weather £1.55 per metre length per 24 hrs or part thereof.
4. General Port Services
i). Mooring Charges £134 per attend.
ii). Fresh Water Supply £3.50 per c.m. or part thereof (minimum charge of £50).
iii). Dues on the transfer of Oil Products or Waste Oil £1.75 per tonne or part thereof (minimum charge of £50).
iv). Hire of Gangway £125 per 24 hrs or part thereof.
v). Hire of Crane £150 per hour.
vi). Hire of Forklift £98 per hour.
vii). Hire of Workboat £135 per hour.
viii). Mandatory Waste charge £35 East Quay, £25 North Quay.



























































NEWHAVEN HARBOUR - PILOTAGE CHARGES
Pursuant to Section 10 of the Pilotage Act 1987, Newhaven Port & Properties Ltd as the Competent Harbour Authority for Newhaven Harbour hereby makes the following list of changes effective from: 1st January 2013
SERVICES OF A PILOT
1 From sea to Newhaven Harbour or vice versa :­
a) Up to 70 metres LOA £154.50
b) Plus per metre or part thereof in excess of 70 metres £9.50
2 Vessels (with the exception of conventional ferries) or combinations of vessels with a beam of 20 metres or over shall pay, in addition to the above rates a charge of £46.50 per metre beam, or part thereof, in excess of 20 metres.
3 For shifting a vessel within the harbour which has previously employed the services of a Pilot to enter the Harbour: 50% of applicable pilotage fee.
4 If a Pilot attends on board a vessel at the request of the Master, Owner or Agent, and the vessel does not leave on the tide or within one hour of the requested time for which he is ordered a charge of £103 shall be made.
PROVISION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A PILOT BOAT
5 The charge for boarding or landing a Newhaven Pilot shall be £82.50­
6 Boating charges
Standard tie up and let go (or for shift) £134.00
Attendance if vessel cancels sailing £62.00
Use of pilot boat for manoeuvring assistance north
