Newhaven Port is extremely pleased to announce that the first training course at the newly established Seahaven Maritime Academy has taken place and was a huge success.

This MCA approved training centre is located within the Port and offers a variety of maritime training courses.

Last week's course was STCW Basic Training, a 6 day course covering all the courses required before a person can go to sea commercially. Namely, Sea Survival(Personal Survival), Fire Fighting (2 day), First Aid, Personal Skills & Social Responsibilities and Security Awareness.
The next STCW Basic Training Course commences on the 21st September.
All the courses are at the on-site facilities, apart from the Sea Survival (Personal Survival), which is held at Newhaven swimming pool (just up the road!).

Please visit the Academy's website and Facebook page for more information and contact details.
