The year of 2009 saw the number of visiting fishing vessels discharging their catch at Newhaven almost double on the figures for 2008.
Combined with the resident fishing community, the figures from the Industry show over 2000 tonnes landed at the Port at a value of almost £3.8M. (Provisional figures). This is good news for the Port, the Town and the Fishing Industry.
The Port is popular with the visiting fishing vessels as it offers 24 hour access, easy lorry access, bunkering capabilities, fresh water supply, forklift and driver hire, competitive rates and friendly Port staff.
We hope to better those figures in 2010.
