Titan Salvage Rigs
Just as Westminster Dredging vessels are starting to leave us for the winter, we are pleased to welcome back Titan Salvage jack-up platforms Karlissa-A and Karlissa-B for the winter. These rigs are using the port facilities throughout the winter months by mooring in the Western Bight.
Titan Salvage is a worldwide company having it's UK base right here in Newhaven.
The vessels are used all over the world for salvage and other operations.
The Newhaven depot is the UK's largest emergency response salvage depot.
They have recently been involved in the removal of a wreck in the North Sea.
They are not expected to depart Newhaven before March next year, but as always, they are on immediate stand-by incase of a shipping disaster occuring in this part of the world. Titan have used their home port of Newhaven for exactly the same operation several times over the last two decades.
The rigs are approximately 60m x 25m, with a displacement of 2000tonnes.
